Dreamcatcher

A Dreamcat puzzlehunt

"THE MACHINE THINKS.

"We trained it using huge volumes of data, taken from scans of normal brain activity. But it's too predictable, too rational; it lacks imagination, capriciousness, soul. For that, we need data from a different, much more subtle source.

"WE NEED DREAMS."

Our first-ever puzzlehunt, Dreamcatcher immerses players in a sci-fi thriller, as they try to solve the murder of Professor Alia Gold, Chair of Computational Oneirology at the University of Tallinn.

Guided by the professor's two PhD students - who harbour their own agendas - the players solve eight puzzles across a range of mechanics and media, before taking on the mini escape room that serves as the finale.

We first built the puzzlehunt for the Electromagnetic Field festival in 2018, as a free-to-play experience for festival-goers. We followed that up with a public run in London, as a charity fundraiser for Ashanti Development, in collaboration with local businesses around Kentish Town.
